Serving the 'Shage Wilderness' large base, the demand for weather resistant medium voltage cables is experiencing explosive growth

With the intensive construction period of large-scale wind and photovoltaic bases in the country's "Shage Desert" (desert, Gobi, desert), the demand for special medium voltage cables in supporting power facilities has shown explosive growth. In base projects in Xinjiang, Gansu and other regions, 26/35kV weather resistant medium voltage cables suitable for harsh environments have become key equipment. This type of cable needs to have strong resistance to ultraviolet radiation, high and low temperatures (-40 ℃ to 70 ℃), wind and sand erosion, and flame retardancy to ensure stable transmission of new energy electricity. Domestic leading cable companies such as Hengtong and Zhongtian Technology have developed a series of targeted products and successfully delivered multiple major projects. Industry analysis indicates that the construction of the "Shage Huang" base will continue for several years, and is expected to drive an average annual growth rate of over 20% in the related special medium voltage cable market, becoming a new growth pole in the cable industry. At the same time, it also poses higher challenges to the material research and development and process control capabilities of enterprises.
